AUSTIN, Texas (February 12, 2018) – RedLeaf Properties, an Austin-based real estate development company and ACC’s partner in the Highland redevelopment project, is donating $250,000 to the Austin Community College (ACC) Foundation to support student scholarships at the college.
“The financial burden of how to pay for college is one that many of our students face,” says Mike Shaw,
ACC Foundation Board director. “The ACC Foundation is focused on alleviating that barrier and we thank RedLeaf Properties for its significant commitment and partnership, which will provide scholarship support both now and in the future.”
RedLeaf presented the first installment, a $100,000 check, to the Foundation at the February ACC Board meeting.“This donation helps further the incredible partnership that we already enjoy with ACC through the redevelopment of the former Highland Mall,” says Matt Whelan, RedLeaf principal. “We appreciate the mission and vision of ACC and are pleased to have an avenue through which we can help single moms with families to further their education who might not otherwise have the means to do so.”The donation allows the college to create the RedLeaf Properties Endowed Scholarship, which will provide financial assistance to single mothers who want to pursue an associate degree or certificate at ACC.Students may apply now for 2017-18 scholarships.
